I took the plunge
And used the TypePad discount code that Catherine D. gave me. Check out my TypePad blog and tell me what you think.

If I go to TypePad, I need to figure out how to customize it a bit more. I can't figure out how to use other people's buttons as opposed to just a link. I can't figure out how to put my button up. or Tag Board... or my site meter.

I do like that I can upload photos to TypePad which means I can post photos from work, since I can't FTP from here (firewall issues). I also like that the comments are done for you instead of having to rely on enetation, which is ALWAYS down.

So tell me what you think.

Which do you prefer:

Design A: Blogger Style

Design B:Web Style

Design C: TypePad Style

Let me know in the TagBoard... I'll choose something before the 30 day trial is over in TypePad and then I SWEAR I'll shut it about this. :)

1 down 1 to go

I couldn't wait... I started the Seuss mitten. I finished the mitten and then spent way too long last night looking for a graph with a star already mapped out. In that amount of time, I could have graphed my own! Anyway, Melanie's husband who graphed the carrot for Emmie's HWBS is going to do a star for me. WHee! Graph Paper ain't no friend o'mine. As soon as I get the star I'll be stitching them in yellow on the palm. Pictures to follow.

I need more yarn like I need a hole in the head

But alas, I still keep buying... maybe I already *have* a hole in my head that prevents me from remembering all the projects I have on my "to do" list the minute I walk into a Yarn Shop.

I went to the Tangled Web on Friday and bought 2 balls of yarn that I already knew I was going to get.

This is for the Seuss mittens I am making. electric blue with a yellow star on the palm. I'm very excited to start these! Depending on how well they come out, I'll probably make a few pair for some friends.

These are 3 of the 4 colors for the fall hat to match my fall mittens and scarf. It's been a real challenge to find the same 4 colors in worsted weight. I did the scarf and mittens in bulky. I know I could have easily ordered all 4 colors from a website, but this scavenger hunt gave me the excuse to keep going into yarn stores. :)

I can never pass up a bargain... I found the 30% off shelf. There was a TON of Noro Shinano, so I bought 3 balls of it for a small tote bag. I was thinking I could make the BoogaJ Felted Bag but when I got home to print the pattern I realized it uses Noro Kureyon, not Shinano. Shinano has silk in it and probably won't felt. So I'll just make a knitted tote and skip the felting. No biggie.

I do have 1 sleeve on the Weekend Warrior and will probably finish it up tonight. I got a lot of great help from Diana at the Tangled Web who is like the queen of seaming.

I promise to post pictures when I finish!!

I'm trying to decide if I want to continue to use Blogger for my Knitting blog. I'm trying to sort out if it's easier to just do it as a page on my own website or move to TypePad.

If I designed my own blog it would look something like this:

New Layout

Comments in the TagBoard are much appreciated!!

Also let me know if you would think relinking my new URL would be a hassle for those who have me listed on their blogs.

Much thanks to Graham from the Blogger Support team who got my site ad-free and lookin' spiffy!! Whee!

Well, I didn't seam the Weekend Warrior last night because, well, I'm scared. I don't have enough Point 5 to sew it AND do the ribbing around the neck and I'm not sure what kind of yarn to use to sew it. I think it would be smart to use wool yarn, since the whole sweater is wool. I tried using some Lamb's pride worsted and it just didn't seem to work right. I was getting really frustrated. I think I'm going to bring the whole thing to the Tangled Web on Saturday and do it there, as I will have some supervision.

I did, however, manage to seam Bim's HWBS. It seamed beautifully and I'm ready to finish up the turtleneck and wrap it up to send to her with the Daisy mittens. I'll have that done tonight and photos posted for sure. :)
